Traffic Infraction Enforcement Technician – Police Department

Full -Time Position $12.61 per hour.
Performs administrative and investigative work in the area of Red Light Enforcement Operations.  Reviews photos for red light running violations and compliance with County Ordinance; makes decisions requiring independent judgment; exercises tact, firmness, and maintains professionalism during contact with the public.  Under the direction of and responsible to the Support Services Lieutenant or Chief of Police.  Must possess a working knowledge of red light camera processing techniques utilized by the City and have an ability to write, analyze data and assemble detailed reports and perform effectively under pressure in a hearing or court environment.
Graduation from high school or equivalent.  An Associate Degree or certificate in criminology or related police enforcement degree is preferred; Experience in traffic enforcement as a former law enforcement officer or certification in traffic enforcement procedures and court presentation techniques a plus. Certification as a Traffic Infraction Enforcement Officer through the State of Florida or through a similar program under the Division of Criminal Justice Standards and Training of the Department of Law Enforcement per Florida State Statute 316.0083 within six months of employment is necessary.

School Crossing Guard

Part-Time, Seasonal Position, $12.38 per hour. To control traffic as necessary in order for children to safely cross the street while they are going to and from school. Reports at specified times to assigned location, sets up traffic control markers and stands at school crossing to control the flow of traffic and pedestrians in order to maintain safety. Employs whatever approved methods and procedures are necessary to encourage and enforce order among children crossing at that point and to control vehicular traffic. Wears all safety equipment as issued. Notices and reacts to errant drivers when needed. Graduation from high school or equivalent and have some previous experience in dealing with people. Prior experience as a School Crossing Guard and knowledge of procedures and practices in school crossing is desired. Firefighter/EMT             $36,173.46*
Part time FF/EMT          $11.19 per hour with no benefits

Full Time position. $12.20 hourly. Performs work of more than ordinary difficulty in the operation of medium to heavy equipment. Performs manual labor.  Duties include lead work responsibility. Additional semi-skilled work to varying degrees of skilled work in the installation, repair, and maintenance of water distribution, reclaimed water distribution, sewage collection systems and stormwater utility systems may also be required.  Operate equipment operated by Operator I classification which is a two ton flatbed dump truck, ten yard dump truck (yard debris), pickup truck, water truck, bucket truck, tractor with broom attachment, back-hoe, front-end loader, mowing tractor, fork lift, water pump, air compressor, chain and cement saws, cement mixers, and portable compactors. In addition to the equipment operated by the lower class operator, employee will operate a tandem dump truck, asphalt patch truck, sand truck, spray truck, road sweeper, extendable arm mowers, tractor with mower, A-boom mowers, batwing mowers, seeder, mulcher, fork lift, 2-4 ton rollers, tractors with box blades, Vactron truck, front end loaders, back hoes, tractor with clam shell bucket attachment, and bucket truck. May operate heavier equipment on a relief or trainee basis to acquire necessary skill and experience. Works in a variety of semiskilled and skilled tasks. Performs minor maintenance and repair of equipment. Performs related work as required. Operates a wide variety of gas powered, electric, hydraulic, air powered tools and equipment  such as plate compactors, cut off saws, drills, push machines, weedeaters, blowers, generators, jumping jack compactors etc. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. Certification in CPR/First Aid. Must possess a valid Florida Drivers License.  Ability to operate a motor vehicle.  Must have five years verifiable documentation of heavy equipment operation.  Two years lead work experience. A comparable amount of directly related experience may be substituted at the City’s discretion for the minimum educational requirements if candidates are not available that fully meet the minimum requirements of the position as posted.  Must possess a valid Florida Commercial Drivers License Class B with air brake endorsement.   This position is to be considered an “essential personnel” and is required to report to duty for emergency situations such as floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, sinkholes, water/sewer breaks and other crises to provide for public safety.  Ability to be “On Call” 24-hr Emergency standby as required by rotation. Full Time position. Salary $18.39 hourly. This position will enforce the codes of the City of New Port Richey. Responsibilities will include investigating reports of violations of City enforced laws, codes and regulations. Conduct inspections of commercial and residential buildings to identify substandard conditions and prepares notices of violation(s) when appropriate. Prepares documentation of violations for presentation to the City special magistrate or county judge. Conducts re-inspections as required. Reviews cases with the prosecutor in preparation for trial, testifies before City special magistrate or county judge, and performs follow-up investigations of the site to verify violations are corrected to comply with the imposed requirements established by the city ordinance, special magistrate or county judge. Works with all governments, City departments and agencies with a need for code assistance to aid them in preparing information necessary for code compliance activities. Graduation from high school or equivalent. Ability to work independently and demonstrate sound judgment. Graduate from High School or GED equivalent. Experience with hand and power tools and general maintenance knowledge is desired. Possession of a valid Florida driver’s license.  First Aid and CPR certifications are desirable and must be obtained within first six months of hire. Every New Port Richey employee is required to fill out a Disaster Response Survey and is subject to being required to report to work during a declared disaster. Full Time position. $10.82 per hour. Semi-skilled work and the ability to obtain varying degree of skilled work in the field of roadways and right of way maintenance, installation repair, and maintenance of water distribution, reclaimed water distribution and sewage collection systems. employees in this class performs a wide variety of maul laboring tasks including the operation of construction equipment in connection with the construction and maintenance of the streets and right of ways and utility systems.   Graduation from high school or GED. One year experience in water distribution, reclaimed water, wastewater collection system, plumbing, or irrigation system construction and repair methods. knowledge in tools, fittings, and equipment used in repair and maintaining these systems. knowledge of water meter installation and repair procedures. Skill in driving truck and in operating line clearing equipment, pumps, automotive, digging, backfilling and mowing equipment.
